Ignite 2011 was a huge blessing from God. Our prayer for the evening was for our hearts to be restored back to the Lord. Our faith in answered prayer grew as we saw believers in Christ bring along their friends to enjoy the food, the music, testimonies and a great message on the Prodical Son from David Strong.
The roast lamb and vegetables, cooked Fijian style, by Sekove Lili was amazing - 4 large lambs cooked underground AND it managed to feed the crowd of about 470 people, even though we had really only catered for 250! Julie Masters was our caterer for the evening and she did a wonderful job with her team organising the supply of food, and then to carve and serve the meal to so many people. We were blessed to have the musical talents of Miriam Lili and her children, Vili and Joy, followed by Dale Skewes, and then Pat Alexander with Sally and Dr John Padgett, who entertained us with music and testimonies while the meal was being served.
During the planning of Ignite 2011, we were constantly amazed at God's provision of willing volunteers, including parking attendants, shuttle bus drivers, gate attendants, media & sound guys, people who supplied cakes and slices for supper, working bee help at the farm, the band and many more blessings....including the great weather.
The photos below show the bonfire being prepared, the haybales for seating, the band, and the general preparation of the shed for the event.
Our prayer now is that we continue to listen to the Lord's direction for the next step in the planning of Ignite 2012, so that we will grow in love for our saviour, Jesus.
