From working with former child soldiers in Uganda, to his role as Assistant Music Director with Melbourne Street Choir Inc. and the School of Hard Knocks, Levi McGrath is committed to music and social justice – and he wants to motivate and inspire a new generation of people to stand up and make a difference. Levi began his professional music career in 2007 with the release of his debut album Move, which saw two singles reach the Top 20 on the TRAA Christian Radio Airplay Chart. In 2009 Levi spent 6 months living in Uganda working with former child soldiers, this led to his critically acclaimed album Children of War – rich in passion for social change and heart-rending stories of suffering, hope and dignity.

Following a top spot at the Australian National Folk Festival in 2011, Levi won second prize in the Indie International Songwriting Contest, competing with hundreds of international songwriters, with two of his songs from Children of War making the top 5 in the Folk Category.
Levi has featured beside artists such as Building 429 and Darlene Zchech, has shared his music alongside World Vision CEO, Tim Costello, and renown US author/speaker Tony Campolo. He has toured Canada supporting former NEWSBOYS frontman, Peter Furler, and in February last year completed an Australian national tour supporting US Rock bands THIRD DAY and NEEDTOBREATHE. |
